STELLA DO IT: A YOUNG ADULT STORY ABOUT INDEPENDENCE

WEST HOLLYWOOD, CALIFORNIA, OCTOBER 10, 2017 – Today, author Gregory Rutchik, launched STELLA DO IT, the second illustrated book in his “Stella” series.

“The story focuses on the balance between independence and the need to connect closely to our roots,” says author Rutchik.

Stella is about a young teen that seeks independence. She wants freedom to climb with her friends on the rocks, the freedom to ride her bike and to just have some space.  To achieve independence, Stella realizes that she must rely on the strength of where she came from.

“Stella Do It” is available from Gatekeeper Press thru Amazon in hardcover, paperback and ebook.

“Stella Do It is a book for young adults as well as for parents,” Rutchik suggests. “It is about the tender moment of independence that we all feel when we first do something ourselves.”

In the book, Stella remembers when her father takes the training wheels off of her bike and the moment when Stella starts to pedal by her self, without her father holding on.  “Pedal faster Stella!” her father tells her. Through this story of independence we explore asking for help, giving help and the importance of relying on our connections to other to further develop our own sense of independence.

Gregory was inspired to write the Stella series by his niece, who is now a young teenager. The first book in this series – “Stella’s Purple Dinosaur” — introduces us to the precocious Stella and her secret pet dinosaur Ezra.
